New York on Pause

On orders from Governor Andrew Cuomo, as a non-essential business, we must limit treatment solely to emergency care due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As of now, we are postponing elective care until we reopen for regular business.

We agree with the Governor’s decision. As healthcare providers, we are committed to putting our patient’s and our staff’s health and safety first. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this National Emergency. We believe that this is the best way of protecting you and our team members. We will be returning to normal business hours as soon as possible.

We take the health, wellness, and safety of our patients, and employees, very seriously. In the face of the recent novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, we are continuing, as we always have, to follow OSHA guidelines for optimal sterilization of instruments, equipment and work surfaces of our operatories and reception area. These are collectively known as Universal Precautions.

The virus that causes the disease, COVID-19, has been named “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2” (SARS-CoV-2), and we are staying current on all official information and guidelines published by the Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the New York State Department of Health, the Westchester County Department of Health, and the American Dental Association.

In addition to always having hand sanitizer at the front desk, in each operatory, and having hand soap in the operatories for all to freely use, we are taking extra care for ensuring that our staff and patients stay healthy. You should know that any staff member displaying symptoms suggestive of Coronavirus will be immediately sent home and will remain there until their symptoms have resolved. Likewise, if you are displaying symptoms of this illness, please stay home and wait until you are symptom-free before coming in for your consultation or scheduled visit.

We advise you follow the CDC’s recommendations regarding the prevention and spread of the virus in your daily life as well. Along those lines, please understand that if we don’t shake your hand as usual, it’s not because we don’t care about you; it’s because we do! We will work hard to make sure that the current concerns do not detract from the high level of care we pride ourselves in delivering to you, to your family, and to your friends.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert A. Horowitz and staff
