Bone Regeneration

Due to improper extractions, periodontal disease, trauma, broken teeth and/or oral infections, bone can be lost . When teeth are removed, if the site is not grafted at the time of surgery, 30 – 50% of the volume of bone and gum can be lost. This amount of tissue must be replaced to enable ideal restoration with or without the use of dental implants. Similarly, when teeth have been attacked by periodontal disease, the supporting bone is lost. To maintain teeth in a patient’s mouth in a healthy state, this bone must be replaced.
